Watching 60 Minutes & the segment on the Paradise fire. The fire spread at ONE FOOTBALL FIELD PER SECOND!!! God bless those poor people & the unbelievably brave firefighters, emergency people & other heroes who are truly angels on Earth. My heart just breaks for them. I pray that they are all with God in heaven.
Hi, I never had an emergency in your department’s area of coverage. However, I volunteer as an EMT in Tolland, Connecticut and I know how unappreciated I sometimes feel, especially after truly terrifying and demoralizing calls. I just wanted to tell you all that you’re amazing and your community is lucky to have you protecting them. Thank you for all that you do, you all are truly heroes.
Thank you Wally for your help while I was incarcerated at the ICJ. You were the friendly voice and officer that went out of his way to help a fellow citizen. I have turned my life around since my release. Thanks to you Wally

Thank you for your quick assistance with the attempted Bank Robbery in downtown Statesville today. I know many people who use that bank, including myself, as well as the people who work there. Thank you for your quick service.
As I watch the news about the horror in Houston and eastern Texas from Harvey, I am appreciative of 911 operators and all of the first responders across the country who are helping to keep those affected safe. Thoughts and prayers for Texas!
I wanted to say thank you to all of the responders who came out to the Farmers Market last Saturday 7/8 in Downtown Statesville! An elderly woman wrecked her car pretty bad while pulling out of the market. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt during the incident that could of been much worse. The EMS, Fire Dept. and Police were quick to the scene and took care of Mrs. Gillespie who arrived home later that day with no serious injuries. It was a scary moment when it all happened, but the responders showed up and took care of everything. Everyone and Mrs. Gillespie Thank you!
Thank you for everything you do!

Mr. Lewis presented awards at the 8th grade ceremony last night. His love for the kids and dedication to his job were evident in his presentation. NIMS is truly blessed to have him as their resource officer. Thank you Mr. Lewis for a job well done.
Thank you for your appeal in the local paper informing the public on how to keep themselves safe from intruders. Even though the reason for the appeal is not positive, the fact you are out in the press speaking to the community is a great thing!

Deputy James, I just want to thank you once again for your help on Easter morning. Our church appreciates you and your act of kindness, not only in filing your official report of the vandalism to our church property, but the way you took time to cover a sign of hate with a new coat of paint. Love overcomes evil! Thank you again! God bless you!
I was home from school sick and I heard sirens. My family and I went out side to see what it was. There were cops all over the neighborhood and people outside their houses. We heard what was going on and everybody in the neighborhood were worried. I just wanted to say thank you for keeping our neighborhood safe and keeping danger out of it. Thank you.
I would like to think all North Iredell Rescue Squad members for everything that they do for our community, for the countless hours that you spend training, attending meetings, standbys for events,EMS standbys and responding to calls all hours of the day and night.

I was in Subway located off I40 on 115 across from Sheetz the other day when one of the employees behind the counter had an issue. The EMS were taking care of her and removed her from the store into the ambulance. Thank you for taking care of someone who obviously needed the help.
To all the first responders, men and women alike. I know what you go through every day, I’ve been there. Some calls are difficult to get out of your mind yet you’re there ready and willing to help when that alarm sounds. Thank you for putting you lives on the line every time that truck rolls. Stay alert and stay safe. Your family needs you as much as your community.

Thank you so much for stepping up today to protect our children at NIHS! Thank you for putting your lives on the line to much sure our babies are safe… thank you for giving this momma the assurance she needed to get thru this trying day. It was hard sending my boy to school today but we knew we needed to take a stand against all the bad…. against all my being I sent him to school hoping that sending him would send a message to those out there that thought using fear would get them an easy day off. I am so thankful and grateful that you guys showed up to give us parents comfort and most of all give the students the comfort to get thru another school day. When my son got to school he texted telling me he felt more than safe…. that there was no way anyone could get near the students today… “mom, there are cops everywhere! There is no way anyone could hurt us. I feel more than safe here.”
Thank you so so so much! Thank u for all that u guys do… for all the sacrifices you and ur families make to keep Iredell county safe! 😍
We were planning to attend the event on Saturday with our grandsons, but illness kept us away. We were very disappointed to miss it, and hope that it’s an annual event. I hear that it was wonderful! Last year, my best friend was around the wrong crowd, and ended up being in extreme danger. She could have died, but thanks to first responders she was taken to the hospital where she made a full recovery. I could have lost my best friend if it had not been for you, and I can’t imagine a life without being able to know that if my best friend, or my family, or even I was in trouble, I could count on first repsonders that sacrifice so much to save lives. Thank you so much!! <3
Even though I needed help due to my own stupid actions, they didn’t hesitate to run to my rescue. I don’t know where I would be or if I would even be here if it hadn’t been for the first responders and EMS of Statesville. Thank you for being my heros.

I was having dinner at the Outback Steakhouse tonight and saw them response to a customer medical emergency. Glad to have them in our corner!
On March 1 2003, my sister and i were on the way to visit our father in Charlotte after a major surgery. We were struck head on by an oncoming car on Clontz Hill Road. Our car caught fire and we were trapped. Our rescuers, at first, were both men named Jamie Clontz, the elder being in the Troutman fire dept. Later came the Troutman Rescue squad and fire dept with the jaws of life. We owe our lives to both Jamie’s and the brave men that helped in our rescue. The EMS attendants and staff at Iredell Memorial hospitals that did everything they could to keep us alive. I have never said thank you, but i am eternally grateful for all you did for me and my sister. You put your lives in the line of danger every day, and i am so grateful for all of you. Thank you. My sister and i have life, a different normal but good lives because of you. With all my heart i wish all of God’s blessings to each and every one of you.
Thank you Hollie for coming out to our house the night we had a break in of our 3 buildings out behind our house. We really appreciate your quickness and help during this time. Thanks for all your department does for our county!!
A big thanks to Greg Shields, Josh Moore, SFD Engine 1 and Iredell Rescue Squad for your quick action, great care and absolute professionalism exhibited in response to my medical emergency and subsequent hospitalization! You Gentlemen are outstanding representatives of your respective organizations!

Thank you for all you do for the community.
We had a fire in our bathroom after an exhaust fan shorted out. The fire department arrived quickly and were not only very efficient they were kind and considerate as well. The ceiling in the bathroom had to be knocked down to eliminate the chance of the fire restarting later and they kept apologizing for the mess. I was just thankful for the amazing job they were doing. My smoke detectors weren’t working and they were thoughtful enough to come back and install new ones for me. I will forever be thankful to all the men who came out that day and went the extra mile to insure our family’s safety. May you all be blessed beyond measure.
You put your lives on the line for us and that is the most precious gift of all. Appreciate all you do for our community. May God bless you and keep you safe. Stay strong and ever vigilant in truth and justice. You are awesome!
The best thing that happens in a school day is when Officer Wayne Elmore comes to visit my son’s school, Troutman elementary, he visits and chats about their day always willing to answer their questions. We wanted to say Thank you today on Valentine day with some cookies and a personal card!

Thank you for all you do. I live in downtown and hear sirens at all hours. I love these sounds, as it reminds me that someone is out there looking out for the health and safety of everyone in our community.
It’s been awhile since this happened, but I never got to really say thank you. After calling 911 because an 8 week old kitten fell in a storm drain, I was eventually passed to animal control. Two officers came out to help which led to the fire department coming out and using the jaws of life to help move the storm drain. The officer then pulled the kitten out which saved his life and saved me from the wrath of my wife. Many years later this cat is still going strong and brings joy to my family on a daily basis. So THANK YOU Animal Control officers of Iredell County for saving little William on that day in September!!!
Thanks to the sheriff’s department for things you’ve done for me at home and at work. I appreciate your service.

I just want to thank all of the first responders in our community for the important work you do every day. It seems like every day there is another negative story in the national news about a police incident. But we never hear anything about all of the good deeds you perform every single day. You work long hours, are always on call and often encounter potentially dangerous situations. Thank you for keeping our community safe!
I never got your name, but I will never forget your voice. I was panic- stricken and in tears when I called, and you managed to calm me down and talk me through what to do while we waited for the ambulance to arrive. I’m so happy to report that everything turned out okay. Thank you for being there, knowing just what to say and how to say it.
You guys are the best. Thanks for all you do every day!!
Thank you all for everything you do daily!
